Els among leaders at suspended PGA

Golf Betting Lines

08/12/2010 - Kohler, WI (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Ernie Els is one of five co-leaders at four- under par during Thursday's suspended first round of the PGA Championship at Whistling Straits.

Els, Matt Kuchar and Nick Watney are in the middle of their first rounds, while Bubba Watson and Italy's Francesco Molinari are in the clubhouse at four-under-par 68.

Tiger Woods birdied his last hole on Thursday to shoot a one-under 71.

Woods, a four-time PGA Champion, failed to break par in any of his four rounds last week at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, a tournament he won seven times, and posted his worst finish as a professional.

Thursday was certainly a different story in the last major of the season and Woods is already close to the lead.

"That's the way it goes. I mean, everyone has bad weeks," said Woods. "Welcome to golf. It is what it is. Guys shoot 59 and don't win. Fickle game."

Jason Day, the young Australian who won this year's Byron Nelson, Ryan Moore and Charles Howell III each carded three-under 69s. Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano, Darren Clarke and Simon Khan are three-under and will be back Friday morning to finish the first round.

A three-hour, 10-minute fog delay at the start set the tournament back. The morning wave of players finished round one, but the afternoon group will have to return to the course Friday morning to complete it.

Phil Mickelson was in the afternoon wave of tee times and birdied his last two holes before the horn sounded to stop play. The 2005 PGA Champion is one-under through 11 holes.

MySportsbook.com week 1 NFL lines

Now that the 2008 NFL schedule is finally out, it is only matter-of-course for lines on “Week 1” to follow.  Of course MySportsbook.com is the first to churn out odds for the NFL’s inaugural week for the upcoming season.   Expect a lot of fireworks the first Thursday night of the season as the defending champion Indianapolis Colts face off against the surprise of the 2008 season, the New Orleans Saints.  These teams were ranked #1 and #3 in the NFL respectively a season ago so a high scoring affair could be in order.  As of now, the Colts will be giving 6 points to the Saints; keep in mind the Saints were one of the better road teams last season going 6-3 SU and 7-2 ATS.  The first Monday night of the season will again provide a “double feature”. Coming off a disappointing season, the Cincinnati Bengals will look to get back to playoffs and improve their public image as they take on the AFC North favorite Baltimore Ravens.  The second game features a couple of teams that haven’t had too much success recently but each could make some noise if the NFC is as weak as it was last year as the San Francisco 49ers host the Arizona Cardinals. The most interesting game of the opening week will feature the NFC champion Bears as they hit the road to take on the NFL’s top team during last year’s regular season, the San Diego Chargers.
